Wyoming Fly Casters
Wyoming Fly Casters, formed in 1974, currently consists
of approximately 160 members. Their Mission is to promote and enhance
the sport of fly fishing and the conservation of fish and their habitat.
They are a determined grassroots club that promotes on-the-ground participation
in the conservation fight. Instrumental in obtaining the leases and
easements necessary for bringing back to life the North Platte River
through Freemont Canyon, Wyoming Fly Casters has brought great pride
to sportsmen and women everywhere, and in the process, whown us all
how to get things done. Their dedication to the sport has lead to the
Platte River Emergers, a youth organization that teaches young anglers
the integrity inherent in sportsmenship, and the stewardship required
to keep their sport, as well as other sports, alive and thriving. General
Meetings are on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM, Izaak
Walton Clubhouse, 4205 Fort Caspar Road, Casper, Wyoming. The public
welcome to attend any general meeting. The Wyoming Fly Casters is active
in the Federation of Fly Fishers, an affiliate member club of Trout
Unlimited, and an affiliate of the Nature Conservancy.
Ducks Unlimited
More than half of the United States wetlands are gone,
and over 100,000 wetland acres a year are lost still. Ducks Unlimited
is at the forefront in wetlands and wildlife conservation, with conservation
projects around the country, as well as youth education efforts. DU's
conservation programs have evolved and expandedaddressing the habitat
needs of waterfowl and other wildlife.
Pheasants Forever
In 1982 Pheasants Forever was founded and dedicated to
the protection and enhancement of pheasants and other wildlife. Through
grassroots involvement and national lobbying, Pheasants Forever has
become a major force in sportsmen conservation issues affecting not
only pheasants, but all wildlife.
Carp Unlimited
Carp Unlimited is a grassroots organization that is still
in its infancy. As more an more people take to the water for outdoor
adventures, the often touted solitude that fishermen and women crave
an often be lost in crowd, as well as your fish. Carp Unlimited is a
Wyoming born group that prizes solitude and quality of sport over the
increasingly crowded waters of trout streams and lakes. While carp might
not be the prettiest fish in the world, the fight they posess is at
least equal to the reel screaming runs of the biggest of trout.
Trout Unlimited
It's often said that the first and best indicator of
overall health in an ecosystem is the health of the fishery. Trout Unlimited
is dedicated to developing, maintaining and improving coldwater trout
and Salmon fisheries throughout the nation. Trout Unlimited is well
known as having members that are dedicated to getting things done on
the ground, as well as being effective lobbyists in Washington, as well
as on the State level.
Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is a nonprofit, international
wildlife conservation organization. whose origins go back to 1984. Rocky
Mountain Elk Foundation's mission is to ensure the future of elk, as
well as other wildlife and their habitat.
Wyoming Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation
Wyoming boasts a very active chapter in the RMEF. Pay
them a visit and see all the things that make them a force to be reckoned
with, and an organization to admire.
